Biography

Kateryna Zhabska is a former IMF expert and former central banker with over 13 years of experience in payments, digital money and financial innovation. Her work spans payment modernization, cross-border payments, Open Banking, CBDCs, stablecoins, payment resilience, and regulatory frameworks for digital money. At the IMF, Kateryna advised central banks and financial authorities globally on payment and digital money policy and contributed to international policy work and research across these areas. Previously, she spent nine years at the National Bank of Ukraine, where she led major payment and financial innovation initiatives, including the development of the fast payment system, national QR-code payment standard, Open Banking and PSD2-aligned reforms, and the central bank’s pioneering retail CBDC work. Kateryna has also been a guest lecturer at Cambridge Judge Business School, Harvard Kennedy School and the University of Chicago
