Biography

Christoffer Kok joined the European Central Bank (ECB) in 2002. He is currently Head of the Stress Test Experts Division in DG Horizontal Line Supervision, responsible for carrying out the ECB’s annual supervisory banking sector stress tests and supporting supervision with stress-related simulations and forward-looking analysis. This includes the 2022 ECB Climate Risk Stress Test, the 2023 and 2025 EU-wide stress tests for SSM banks, the ECB Banking Supervision’s Vulnerability Analyses, the 2024 SSM Cyber Resilience Stress Test, and the 2026 SSM reverse geopolitical risk stress test. He is Co-Chairing the Advisory Group on Stress Testing reporting to the ECB Supervisory Board as well as the Sub-Group on Stress Testing reporting to the European Banking Authority’s Board of Supervisors. Previously he was Deputy Head of the Stress Test Modelling Division in the ECB’s DG Macroprudential Policy and Financial Stability responsible for developing and maintaining the institution’s top-down stress test models. In that role, he had a leading role in the ECB’s contributions to the banking sector recapitalization exercises during the euro area sovereign debt crisis and in the ECB’s 2014 Comprehensive Assessment. Before that he was Adviser in the same DG and Principal Economist in the DG Monetary Policy. Before joining the ECB, Christoffer was an Economist in the Danmarks Nationalbank. He also regularly works as a Consultant for the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group with Technical Assistance work. He holds a MSc in Economics from Aarhus University and Université Paris I Sorbonne-Panthèon and a MSc in Finance from Copenhagen Business School.
